Associate Artist at
The National Youth Orchestra

Tim works with musicians from across the NYO community to broaden their artistic practice. This ranges from devising imaginative, theatrical performances and supporting school concerts to developing young musicians’ presenting skills and helping them create their own music.

Tim trains NYO alumni to develop their creative leadership skills to deliver workshops with the next generation of orchestral musicians and leads role modelling training for current members of the orchestra. He also leads NYO’s work in Youth Centres.

Creative Associate with MishMash

Tim directs for internationally award‑winning production company MishMash, working with professional musicians and emerging artists to devise and present engaging, imaginative performances for young audiences. The work puts audiences at the centre and encourages musicians to think about how to present classical music to fresh eyes and ears. Recent collaborations have included projects with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the National Youth Orchestra, the CBSO, and Turner Sims concert hall.

He also led Music at Oxford’s production of Let’s Build a Town which was nominated for both a Royal Philharmonic Society Award and a YAM Award.

Concert Presenter for Wigmore Hall Learning

Following his time on the prestigious Trainee Music Leader scheme, he is now a regular at Wigmore Hall, presenting For Crying Out Loud — a concert series for babies and their families — as well as the Partner School Celebration concerts, which bring together children from across London to perform co‑created music and songs.
